2018
IN DEVELOPMENT: Surviving.
Charlotte is currently in the process of developing a site-specific immersive piece of theatre exploring the narratives of survivors of domestic violence and/or sexual assault. This production will be created and performed entirely by survivors. Surviving. is still in the concept stage and a call out for participants has been made. Young Company Director – Royal Exchange, Manchester
Charlotte began her director training in late 2017 with the Royal Exchange Young Company (awarded The Stage School of the Year Award 2017) under the direction of Young Company director, Matt Hassell. Since commencing training, Charlotte has had the opportunity to attend masterclasses with Kate Colgrave-Pope and Nathaniel Hall. In the summer, she will be assistant director to Nicola Miles-Wildin, RTYDS Resident Assistant Director at the Royal Exchange on this year’s Young Company summer show (tba). Charlotte will also be directing a selection of monologues as part of 2018’s Table for Six festival.
2017
Ensemble: Discover – Graeae, London
Charlotte was one of twenty young disabled artists selected to spend a week at Graeae developing skills in all areas of theatremaking. Charlotte directed some short devised scenes performed by other members of the Ensemble.
Introduction to Directing – HOME, Manchester
Charlotte completed HOME’s introductory directing course, led by director and performer, Cheryl Martin. During the week, Charlotte had the opportunity to devise and direct short scenes, lead warm up activities and direct the opening scene of Debbie Tucker Green’s Nut to a small audience of HOME staff and supporters.
